GPS built a large kitchen and utility room extension on our house in Boduan in 2010. From start to finish I was impressed by Steve's attention to detail, high level of workmanship, and approachability. In addition to this was his respect for our privacy and need to have the site kept in an orderly and tidy state. He produced a very detailed and reasonable quote which did not change except when we added to the original spec. He started and finished the project when he said he would. Other tradesmen he bought onto the site were excellent.

An example of his care and meticulousness was the way in which he and Dewi took down a large area of external granite walling block by block whilst leaving a network of piping intact waiting for our plumber to deal with. As I mentioned earlier he consulted and kept us in the picture throughout and never seemed phazed if we added/altered the original spec. We are delighted with the result of his work and have no reservations about recommending his services.

Situated part way up a mountain, our views are imposing and different not just day by day but each part of the day, begging the question from friends and family as to why no conservatory? Cae’r Wrach enjoys Snowdonia and Cardigan Bay for a backdrop, proving truly beautiful views all year round, but a combination of procrastination on our part allied to the serial ‘too difficult’ responses from other builders precluded the notion of a conservatory, until that is, GPS were approached! Steve and Dewi just said ‘no problem’ and got on with it, moving massive granite boulders and tons of associated material as the ground was prepared. As you see, the results speak for themselves – a superb bespoke enhancement to our home.

I hired GPS to do the renovation of my bungalow. The works included new lounge and utility room (from old garage), new bathroom and en–suite, conservatory, new windows, patio doors, fascias, soffets and gutters and the building of a new double garage, patio, paths and drive way. We employed Gwynedd Property solutions to unblock two chimneys and install two chimney liners in our semi detached house. once Steve and Dewi commenced the work we soon realised that a soaked gable wall and years of patch repairs to the house had taken there toll.
Steve and Dewi were not phased at all by what they uncovered (even though we were!) and ended up rebuilding the chimney stack, replacing all the lead flashing, re-rendering the outside, fitting a new granite lintel in our fireplace and juggling our budget around to accommodate as much as possible.

The workmanship is excellent and the reuse of materials where ever possible was great to see.

In 2002 we bought a 16th century farm house in the village of Trefor (a registered Grade 2 building), and over a 9 month period of extensive interior and exterior refurbishment and renovation, Steve transformed ‘Gwydir Mawr’ from an uninhabitable shell into a comfortable and fantastic familly home that is bursting with character. Thanks to all his hard work and imagination, it is a home that we are very proud of, and everyone who visit for the first time are astonished at the quality of the renovation work. He has masterly managed to combine traditional charatcteristics with modern touches, and the final effect is a joy to behold.
We are so happy with every aspect of Steve’s work, that we have contracted him to build an extensive two floor extension to ‘Gwydir Mawr’ which will be undertaken during late 2009/early 2010. And we are more than confident that he will deliver workmaship and craftmanship of the highest order once again.
